October MITI Details

Are you ready for fall? We sure are! This month we will be making "Monster Bags." Your kids can use them as their Halloween treat bag, library bags or toy bags. Crafting Party!

Last night might have been our best Miti ever! We had such a great group of gals making such fabulous shadow boxes. It even spilled over to the local Chili's afterwards!

Thank you to everyone who has attended one of our Miti's (we love it as much as you do) and to those of you who haven't tried our Make it/Take it you have another chance next month. On the first of every month we will post what that month's Miti will be and the class will be the last Tuesday of the month. We would love to have you join the fun!

August MITI Details & Sign Ups

We had such a blast at our July Make it/Take it I couldn't wait to get the sign up list going for the August class. This month we are making a shadow box using one of your own photographs. (There is a piece of glass in the front of the shadow box so it was a little difficult to photograph because of the glare but it will be in the store if you want to stop by and see it.)What: My Wonderful Family Shadow Box

Quick Crafty Ladies

Last night we held our monthly Make-it-take-it class... and I must say we had a very advanced group of women! They sped through the memory board construction leaving plenty of time to chit-chat, feast on the Red Velvet truffles, pink Macaroons (made by the super talented Rosalyn-Sue!), Dark chocolate cappuccinos, wine, and of course shopping!!

Crafty Goodness!

Here's a peek at our August MITI (make-it-take-it) class. Let me just say, these classes are so much fun! Last night we all added our own special twist on Wendy's famous photo tins. It was so neat to see everyone create their designs and add their own unique touches to these family keepsakes. We will post the details for our September MITI soon...stay tuned....our regulars had a few special requests so we are gonna try to accommodate with a really special project next month. As for now... enjoy the pics... and to quote our favorite saying: Do Something Creative Everyday!! ~J

Good Times at POPIN

Another successful MITI! We had a blast on Tuesday night with all of the ladies. Ribbon was flying, brownies were eaten and lots of chatting and laughing from everyone. MITI - this Tuesday!!

Here's a pic of the super fun Ribbon Topiary that we will be making at this month's MITI. The class is this Tuesday, 6/19 at 6:30pm here at POPIN. The cost is $25 per person and that includes all of your materials, instructions, snacks, and fun! MITI & Big Bellys

We had another great Make it/Take it. We made kitchen towels but more importantly we learned how to hand embroider. Once again, Heather's pink lemonade cupcakes were divine! (She is making some yummy chocolate ones for Preston's Birthday next week...so much better than store bought)
We also got in new Big Belly Banks yesterday. Kids love putting change in these and watching it go all the way down to the "belly". Makes a great Birthday presents!

Another great MITI (make it/take it)

Boy- this was a great bunch of ladies who came to the March MITI. A special thanks for Heather for the most delicious pink lemonade cupcakes we have ever tasted...ever! Here are some of the wonderful results:If you missed this class, don't worry, we have one every month:


Next class is going to be on April 3rd (we had to move it up a little due to Jamie's IVF schedule-keep fingers crossed) at 6:30. We are going to learn to hand embroider. This has been in a lot of the magazines lately, including the recent issue of ADORN magazine. Each participant will get a embroidery kit that includes all of this:
We are going to start with a dishtowel and you can choose which pattern you want to put on it (there are more patterns than are what shown here) and we will add some fringe and pom-poms to the towels to finish them off. You get to keep the kits so you can take it home and start embroidering pillows, baby gifts and pretty much anything you can get your hands on! You also get a book full of practical ideas (and color pictures) .

We made it...we took it

Tonight was our first monthly Make it/Take it. We made decoupage buckets for Valentines Day. Thank you to all who came, I hope you had as much fun as we did. Don't forget to let us know how you used your buckets (so far I have heard for hair bows, remote controls and valentines candy). Here are a few pictures of us getting our hands messy!

We will provide the bucket, tools, snacks and a sampling of fabrics to choose from. (If there is a certain fabric you want to use, please bring it) These are great for helping you organize your "stuff" or would be perfect to make for your little one for Valentines Day. You can fill it up with goodies and use it year after year.
